Viking Fire Protection is regularly searching for experienced and well-qualified foremen, sprinkler fitters, and designers.

 

Foreman

Job Description and Requirements:

Responsible for ensuring proper installation of the system and completing scope of work for projects.  Coordinate and direct the daily tasks of crew . Initiate communications with jobsite superintendent or owner’s representative.  Direct and assist in the installation of systems. Foreman should have strong understanding of fire sprinkler installation methods, materials, equipment, tools, and knowledge of NFPA standards.  Must be experienced with installation, testing, servicing, and troubleshooting wet, dry, pre-action, and fire pump systems.  Five to ten years experience preferred.  Must have valid driver’s license that will be approved by Viking Fire Protection and be willing to travel to jobsite location.

 

Fitter

Job Description and Requirements:

Ideal candidate should have 3 – 5 years’ experience installing various types of sprinkler systems.  Able to work unsupervised and read blueprints.  Should have good understanding of fire sprinkler installation methods, materials, equipment, tools, and knowledge of relevant NFPA codes.  Must have valid driver’s license that will be approved by Viking Fire Protection and be willing to travel to jobsite location. Preferred experience installing pumps, CVPC systems, dry systems and ability to read blueprints.  The candidate must have a working knowledge of all other components of a sprinkler system, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel to any location or work any shift at the request of Viking Fire Protection.  AFSA apprenticeship program (or currently obtaining).

 

Designer

Job Description and Requirements:

Responsibilities include: produce detailed working drawings in accordance with scope of work and contract documents for permitting, generate hydraulic calculations, prepare drawing and material submittals, secure approvals and permits,  communicate and coordinate with other trades to ensure accuracy of drawings.  Ideal candidate should have fire sprinkler design/drafting experience, good knowledge of NFPA standards; familiar with office and technical software such as used for hydraulic calculations and CAD design documents,  able to work unsupervised, able to attend job surveys and jobsite coordination meetings; NICET certification, AutoCad, SprinkCAD, or HydraCAD experience preferred.
